OUR FUNDING PRIORITIES

  • Enhance firefighter safety and effectiveness

  • Invest in ways to improve the health and wellness of the firefighters

  • Deepen the Department’s connection with the communities it serves

The Seattle Fire Foundation channels community and corporate support into important, but unmet resources for Seattle’s firefighters.

Every donated dollar has a direct and meaningful impact on those who risk their lives to keep Seattle safe.

Ensuring Seattle firefighters have access to the equipment, tools, and technology needed to respond to emergencies with safety and effectiveness. This priority supports needs that strengthen firefighter readiness, operational capacity, and response capabilities beyond what traditional public funding can provide.

Supporting the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of Seattle firefighters throughout their careers. Investments may include behavioral health resources, peer support, resilience and wellness initiatives, and the Peer Support Therapy Dog Program.

Strengthening the relationship between Seattle firefighters and the communities they serve. Investments may include community engagement, fire and life-safety education, career pathway programs, youth engagement, and initiatives that build trust, access, and connection across Seattle.

Supporting innovative approaches that help Seattle Fire respond to complex health and social needs beyond the traditional emergency response model. Investments may strengthen Mobile Integrated Health programs, partnerships, resources, and services that connect people with appropriate care while supporting more effective use of emergency response resources.
